Hola:

Hoy estaba supervisando un proyecto con Trados y al finalizar los archivos, me he encontrado que Trados no ha detectado las Notas/comentarios para el ponente. ¿Sabéis por qué ha podido pasar esto?

Y lo más importante, ¿Cómo se puede evitar esto en próximos proyectos? ¿Hay alguna opción de Configuración del proyecto que he podido tener desactivada?

it would appear that you have to enable it in the PowerPoint filter.

My computer was not reading Trados files. So, I had to uninstall and install it again in the order: 1) Studio 2019 with SR1 and 2) SDL MultiTerm 2019 CU1 Desktop Installer.

I don´t know why but it worked.. :-)

No i couldn't open it, no matter which tricks i pulled; but they could open it properly. The project manager took the project and allocated it to another translator.

It happened to me today with Trados Studio 2015. I panicked when I could not edit any file in any project. I would have never guessed the solution was so simple, thank you very much!

Hi experts,

I have Trados Studio 2015. I received a package for translation day before yesterday. I opened it and saw the text. When I tried to open this project today for translation, I saw the following message:

The detected target language does not match that expected by the project.

And when I try to open the file to get rid of this issue, I am shown the following message:

The file cannot be opened as it contains languages that are not configured for this installation.

It is very surprising and annoying at the same time. If there was a mismatch, this sdl xliff file would not have opened day before yesterday.

I need to deliver it by tomorrow. I have tried many things but in vain. Could you please figure out the problem and suggest a solution for it?

Use MemoQ instead. Has the same problem in Trados 2019 few days ago. I assume it is because new Windows update. Today could work with Trados with no problems.

Or maybe try to copy and save the sdlxliff in the other place and start new projekt.

Search for "source-language=" and "target-language=" in the file. They are almost at the top, so should be easy to find.

Ensure they give the correct language combination and save.

That will hopefully solve the problem for you.

Incidentally Notepad++ is a free utility, and much better than the Notepad version following Windows.

I am grateful to you for suggesting the solution. I have used the ordinary Notepad software which is embedded in Windows ( I have Windows 7). It is still a mystery how I was able to open this file and there was a no mismatch at that time. And I could not open the same project/file after 2 days.

I am rather angry since this software costs a lot.

This is what happens and I cannot work:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

is the message which appears.

I tried several solutions but they didn't work.

Please let me know of any reference.

Yes, I have no answer to why it suddenly happened.

memoQ would, of course, be a possibility if one has that CAT tool, except that it may be the client may have problems with the project when it is delivered, so I am not sure if that is a satisfactory solution.

Hello,

I have received a project package file and I made all the steps which I know to open it and start editing. what's clear now that there's a missing step because I opened the file and started editing but there's no progress even after confirming the target segments. I use SDL Trados 2017 and this is the first time to work on a project package file. Would you tell me the steps to open and start editing Project package file to find out the missing step, please?

Dear Milena, I do not know if you have the same problem as its not the same error message. I resolved the problem by sorting the termbase. On my second computer where I had the same problem I had nothing else to do than that. Did you try?

I have the same problem with constant crashes. I found this to happen only after the latest Trados service pack update. Tried to file a ticket with Trados - not possible???
How can this happen with such an expensive software?

And the best is that I tried to contact the support ready to pay for it. And they answered me only after 3 weeks! No help for my post in the SDL community either and no answer from them here though I informed them of this post. If I hadn't resolved it by myself this would have mentioned 3 weeks without being able to work. If there would be an alternative I switched over immediatly but there is not, all my clients work with Trados...

Today I created a translated xliff file from memoQ and tried to import it into Studio (SDLTrados Studio 2019 SR1 - 15.1.0.44109) To my great surprise both source and target text came in the source column in Studio.

I also tried to export the same translation from Dejavu as an xlf file (xliff), but with the same result.

Anyone who has a suggestion on why this may be and how to solve this? I have not experienced this before and wonder if it perhaps is a bug or something.

I just tried with the MemoQ job I am working on and everything seems normal:

In MemoQ:
Export bilingual
Set to "Plain XLIFF for other tools"
Saved the mqxliff file

In SDL Trados Studio:
File>Open>Translate single document>Imported the mqxliff file.

Opened normally
