Thank you for your reply!

If I write a tag in this window it becomes invisible. So I wrote it above as the title of my reply.

To the command from the title I added a Condition: Report if source matches but not the target.

Unfortunately it does not work. Any idea where might be a problem?

The regex metacharacter for a digit is \d not /d.

I am not sure what you are trying to validate. It is not clear where there should be no space between that tag and the number.
Could you please supply two examples, one valid and one invalid.

If is invalid,
this could be matched with the
regex:

ok so the situation that usually occurs in my translations is this (date is changing):

source segment: 14 mars 2018 fn

(fn being foot note TAG)

in target segment I get this translation by default: z dne 14. marca 2018 fn

(this translation is wrong because of the last space before the foot note, correct translation being z dne 14. marca 2018fn)

so I would like to get an error notice if there is a space before fn in target

But it seems to me that QA is not recognizing tags at all.

I understand you problem now. It is true that Find/Replace and QA Checker do not support regexes in conjunction with tags.
Ther eare two possible solutions for your problem.
1. If it suffices to check that a space does not incorrectly follow a data - this you can test with a QA regex
2. Otherwise install the Integrated Search Views addin that provides some support for tags and regexes

1. unfortunately it doesn't and 2. where I work addins are not allowed and are blocked.

I guess I'll have to check spaces before tags manually.

You have to use RegeX (NET flavour) not normal expressions.
eg. Your tag in Regex is \u003Cfn\sid\u003D\u00221\u0022\u002F\u003E

In 2017 version, go to Welcome view, run 'SDL XLIFF Converter for Microsoft Office', go to 'Settings' tab, select 'Generate Microsoft Excel files' radio button, then go back to 'Convert to MS ... Excel', add your SDLXLIFF, press 'Convert'.

I tried but it doesn't work. Might be that TAG is not correct.

If I write an exact TAG of my footnote in this window, it becomes invisible. So I wrote it above as the title of my reply.

Can you please tell me the net flavor expression for this exact TAG.

Maybe an example would help. So I have this footnote tag: which is always preceded by a number.

I would like to make sure that between a number and this tag there is no space.

I have tried this:
RegEx source: \d
RegEx target: \d

but it does not work. Does anybody know where is the problem?

I have my own ways of extract contents of sdlxliff (of course, it makes MS Excel file automatically).
As you may know well, sdlxliff is a just plain text file, so, it is very easy to do it.

But, I'm not a professional programmer.
So, I think SDL's solution should be finer than mine in some aspects and want to try it out.

Unfortunately, in my case, all of SDL's solutions are perfectly NOT working and make errors only.
I do not know the exact reason. I'm just wondering how can I test it.

Hi,

I have a question about xlf format.

I have a file to translate with Wordbee. As I want to translate it offline with SDL Trados Studio (mostly to be able to apply my own TM), I import an XLF file.

My problem is that as soon as I modify this XLF file, it becomes a SDL XLIFF document, and wordbee refuses to import it back, with this error message:

"Name of the file - Export.xliff.xlf.sdlxliff[Remove]

Upload failed: File too big or invalid file extension.

Select .xlf file. Maximum file size: 250 MB"

So my question is: is there a way to convert my translated file back to an XLF file so that I can import it back on Wordbee?

Sorry, I am not a frequent user of QA Checker 3.0.
I was sure that Regex tab of QA Checker supported tag search.
I use SDL Studio 2017 and Advanced Display Filter (integrated in Studio 2017, [b]not add-in[/b]).
Advanced Display Filter supports regex in conjunction with tags.

Hi folks!

First of all, sorry if this's been already discussed somewhere else. I've tried to google it and didn't find a direct answer for my issue.

I'm using Trados Studio 2017 and it’s been some months since I noticed that TM units aren’t being updated instantly.
E.g.: Let’s say I'm translating a string, and the next one would be a 90% match with that string. As I confirm the first one and go to the next, my “Translation result” window doesn't return that very previous string as a fuzzy match.
On the other hand, I can still find that on the concordance search!
Also, I've noticed that, after just a couple of minutes, that string is finally added to the TM and can be shown in further fuzzy match results.
It's puzzling me, as I don't know if this 'delay' is a real bug or something I may have set up in error.
Does anybody have a similar problem and (hopefully) know what is happening?
This apparently silly bug may be very time-consuming when we have a long list of similar strings, as we can't benefit from the best fuzzy match that we should have in our TM (i.e., the one we've just added!).

HI,

despite colleagues mentioning the problem is/was solved, I have it right now and that is why I ended up reading this thread.

just to make sure I am not missing something here, where exactly the option "Always add new translation.." in Project Settings is supposed to be? Could someone share a precise walkthrough pointing out the path for adjusting settings?
I have Trados 2014 (not starter).

I am going crazy with repeated 100%/ICE matches in TM since I am in the role of final editor and over 26,000 K and dozens of file I cant possibly be sure anymore what was the slightest improvement I did in comparison with previous version when encountering the same segment 10 files ahead.

Hello to everyone. :)
I have a problem with Trados Studio 2017.
When I try to open a file for translation in the editor, an error message pops up saying "The specified item is already part of a command bar"; then, when I close the error message and I click on projects or files or whatever else nothing happens. I have unistalled and reinstalled the program but nothing changed.

On the sdl community forum, I've been told to rename a folder (c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\ [IP removed] ) and restart Studio, which I did but nothing happened.

I thank you in advance for the help.
