I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Multi Term Extract hanging during extraction?
I used to be able to extract terms, no problems, a few weeks ago, and now it is no longer working. The only thing that changed was my Java automatically updated.
Multiterm Extract depends heavily of the Java version.
It could be the initial reason.
The SDL website suggests uninstalling and reinstalling Java, but this is not working for me. So far, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java, and uninstalling and reinstalling the entire suite of Trados/Multi Term 2011 products on my computer.
LOL.
Translated from corporate to a human language, it means "we don't know how it works and how to fix it, pray harder".
You can try to ask the support for the SDL registry wiping tool (it exists) and repeat this procedure.
It may help (or not).
I have also tried using/not using a set termbase, and have moved all of my documents for the project to the designated SDL documents folder on my computer.
First at all, what's the size of you project?
Multterm Extract uses to hang for bigger projects.
Try with a very small/simple one.
If it works, it's a problem with your project configuration/size.
In this case, you can try to fiddle with the Java VM settings.

Cheers
