Topic: Trados Studio 2014 won't open!!!
Poster: Alison High
All was well last time I used Trados ... 17th January.
I go to open it today and it just won't budge.
I get an alert (in French) saying that
Trados Studio has stopped working
A problem is at the origin of this malfunction.
Close the program.
With a close program button.
I've rebooted.
I've re-installed Trados 2014, re-downloading from SDL... its an upgrade from 2011 which was an upgrade from 2009 so I don't know if it has really dealt with the problem or not.
I've some windows updates that took place on the 15th, but everything was fine on the 17th
I'm now looking into uninstalling it all completely and re-installing.
Typically this is really bad timing I've a job to do within the next 19 hours!
OK I've found the problem:
I uninstalled a load of fonts that were making another program hang.... obviously Trados had need of one of the memory-hogging fonts I deleted, thankfully I've a font management software that places all unistalled fonts in a file where I can re-install them nice and quickly :-)
Hope this helps someone else
