SDL 2017 propagating fuzzy matches as 100% matches

Hello! I'm having issues auto propagation and don't know where to fix it. Please see below:

1. Bolsa de 254 mm (10”)
2. Bolsa de 254 mm (15”)
3. Bolsa de 254 mm (20”)

As you can see, the first segment is correct. However, segment two and three are keeping the same number in millimeters for different inches. The problem is that they were propagated as a 100% match and not as a fuzzy match.

I haven't made any changes to the settings. Any thoughts?

I have this situation:

Source:(space)NJ(space)

RegEx source: (?>!\w)NJ(?!\w)

when I run Regex, nothing is found. Anthony or anybody else, would you be so kind and explain why?

to my knowledge \w does not include space, so I would expect this regex to find the source

I forgot to add the settings file to my editing project, do I need to redo the whole editing?

It was a very large project where I made changes in a lot of SDLXLIFF files from almost 10,000 comments in a PDF file. I worked my way through the comments in the PDF file one by one. The original translator had made a very bad translation, and my task was to implement the reviewer's changes from the inserted comments in the PDF file, mainly a copy and paste task.

Then, after delivery, it turned out I had forgotten to apply the settings file for the tags: SettingsWithGUI.sdlftsettings



There are 97 SDLXLIFF files and around 20 "no-trans" tags per file, usually found at the beginning of the xml.

Rather than redoing the whole project (which took me several days), can't I just look-up each of these tags in the SDLXLIFF files and make each necessary change one by one directly in Studio?

I would suggest you use a regex test tool, such as RegexHero (licence-free), that provides analysis capability. Such a tool often finds basic errors.

Can you develop, please?
AFAIK DeepL offers its own translations without looking in your termbase or elsewhere.

After I installed SDL Studio 2017 on a new laptop, I have this small issue.
When there is a word between two tags or a tag after a word and I double-click the word, the following tag is also high-lighted. But I only would like to over-write the text, not the tag also. I cannot find the item where I can stop this behavior. In fact I have never seen it before in Studio. Any idea?

FWIW, I don't see this behaviour in Trados 2019 using a desktop computer. Double-clicking a word selects only that word (also the space following it, if there is a space following it). I tried in all tag display modes and with tags in various positions.

I opened an older project from the same customer and there Studio behaves like usual, so it does not come with the new installation.

After problems with my PC, I've recently had to reinstall SDL Trados 2019 and while it mostly works fine, I'm getting errors which prevent me from associating TMs, which is pretty disastrous! These range from an "Exception generated by call destination" message when I try to click on "Project settings" ("Impostazioni di progetto") when I have the Editor open, to "Failed to create setting page" when I manage to open "Project Settings" in the other windows and click on "Translation memory" to try and associate a TM. I'm pretty desperate... can anyone help!!! Many thanks in advance, Sarah.

I didn't access my SDL account for a long time and changed my email address in the meantime, so I cannot access my account because the address is not valid anymore. Does anyone know how to proceed?

This is an installation problem, so I believe you are entitled to SDL assistance.
Contact them ASAP by clicking on the SDL Community link in the Help tab,
