Thanks for taking the time to answer! Sorry for getting back to this so late.

I probably haven't made quite clear what I want, let me try again:

I'd like to find every instance of the word "thingy" (no matter how it is formatted) and italicize it. So the question really is how to include formatting in the "replace with" field.

Can this be done with SDL Batch Find and Replace?
