Topic: Variable: 2-word-item treated differently on different PCs?
Poster: hohe
Hello,
I used to think that variables are treated exectly as specified in the variable list. i.e. if I add "ALLE SPRACHEN" to be treated as the name of a company that must not be translated into English, I expect that "ALLE SPRACHEN" is marked with one single blue bracket and can be replaced by one single placeable via QuickPlace. That's the way it works on my PC. On a colleague's PC, the same unit is marked by two blue brackets and can only be replaced by selecting "ALLE" and then selecting "SPRACHE" by a second click. Could anyone please tell me what might make the difference in the computer settings or Trados settings? Both times, SDL Trados Studio 2014 was used. Both times, there was only one space character between "ALLE" and "SPRACHEN". Many thanks for your help in advance!
