Topic: Translation of bilingual XML files with target already generated (partially) using Trados Studio
Poster: sveilleux
Our files are bilingual (English-French) XML files. Those files often need to be updated with changes or new content. When opened in Trados, the files obviously show all the content on the source side, so we either translate the English segments only which will overwrite the English in the file, and we find ourselves with French-French documents, or we translate next to the French segments, making the TM useless.
My question is... Is there a way to change our file structure so that we would see the source on the left, the existing unchanged target on the right, and blank targets when the English has changed?
If not, is there any other way to ease our process? We're looking to avoid manual tasks as much as possible, as we have over 800 files to process.
Thanks for your help and advice!
