When translating from Japanese to English, Trados inserts a space between segments when a file is cleaned up. This is behavior is okay when the segments are separated by a period but not okay when the segments are separated by a colon because the source file usually already contains a space after the colon. You end up having two spaces after the colon after cleaning up. Is there a way to prevent Trados from inserting a space between segments depending on the delimiter (ending punctuation)?
This is what I want Trados to do during cleanup:
If the target segment ends with a period, insert a space.
If the target segment ends with a colon, don't insert a space.
Thank you in advance.
