Post title: Slow, slower, the slowest...

I read with much interest through this thread since I have been trying Trados Studio 2014 since about two weeks and already was about to buy it when there were dark clouds of doubt coming over my head...
Then I read this thread and I can confirm most of the troubles you report of. Some of them I don't know because I simply don't know or use the feature (such as filters or regular expressions).
But my conclusion is: Studio 2014 is JUST SLOW! I attended a webinar where the guy said it was significantly faster because it uses several CPU cores compared with just one in 2009 and 2011.

Well, I can't share this experience. My i7 machine has four cores and 8 GB of RAM (Win7) but the only thing where 2014 is really faster is preparing projects (the conversion and analysis stuff). This is sort of time-consuming in 2009 (some bigger projects with 50k words sometimes take me 20 minutes or more!). But here I have to do this just once in the project and I start it before breakfast or lunch or make a coffee break (we all need one from time to time). So this improvement is insignificant.
2014 doesn't even START faster (my OS and all programs are installed on an SSD) - maybe it loads more plugins than 2099???

But what is much more important when you translate: You want to get from one segment to the next one as fast as possible and there I don't see any improvement - in the opposite: with 2009 it was a smooth and fast movement when Trados recognizes several 100% matches in the TM and fills them in automatically but with 2014 it looks like an old Diesel engine: tok tok tok. With EN-DE I use a huge TM sometimes and searching through this takes some time. But this would have been one of the major reasons for me to buy 2014. Njet.

And the other important deterioration: When I edit a Multiterm entry (with me it works after updating Java) I click into the window next to the term I want to edit and then on F2, then a loooong time nothing happens until finally the MT editor window highlights the terms for editing (with 2009, almost immediately!). What is this? I didn't measure it but this takes about 5 seconds every time (and I do it often because I have also a big TB of almost 200k entries).

And something I don't understand either:
Why the heck does 2014 WITH THE SAME TM where 2009 proposes me the translation (99%, due to several TM entries) "ANMERKUNG:" for the English source "NOTE:" (correct translation!) propose me the translation "TEILE:"???? The only stuff they have in common are the colon and the caps! In NONE of all the translations in the TM window I can see "ANMERKUNG", "HINWEIS", etc.
I will stop working now on 2014, this will save me much time and gray hair... :-(

Conclusion: While everything in 2009 worked smoothly in 2014 it's just bucking....

I will wait until SP1 and then try it again.

Best,
Markus
