Post title: About the slowness

It the security checks and the resulted slowness are a problem (as opposed to just a nuisance) there is a workaround, but it is very important to note that the increase in speed comes on the expense of security, so this must be taken into consideration.

That said, for the average user on a local-SOHO network, where Studio is the only Java based software and sensible computer security practices are adhered (keeping the operating system patched, not installing things from unknown sources), the security risk is quite minimal.

The workaround:

  1. Open the Jave Control Panel

  2. Switch to the Advanced tab

  3. Scroll to the Perform certificate revocation checks on setting

  4. Select the Do not check (not recommended) option

  5. Click OK to confirm and exit, restate MultiTerm and/or Studio, and see if the slowness imrpvoed
