Topic: Updating SDLXLIFF files from a monolingual Word file?
Poster: Mag. Evelyn Frei
Hello everybody,
I'd have a question regarding the update of Trados projects from monolingual Word files.
I know that you can update SDXLIFF files either with the converter or by batch task in Studio 2011. In both cases, the result is a bilingual word file.
But I wonder if it is possible to update also starting from a monolingual file, since usually I send only monolingual files to (end) customers.
Let's say you have the file "Samplefile.docx", you translate it via Trados 2011 and create a target file "Samplefile_DE.docx".
Then you (or the customer) make(s) some changes in the target file (without trackchanges) and you want to update the project (also to have a correct TM for further use).
Would that be possible?
(Is it possible in Trados 2014?)
Best regards in advance for your help.
Evelyn
