Well, sorry, TM Manager is simply tab in Project Settings window. Open Project Settings for your project, here you will find tab Language Pairs - All language pairs - TM and from this windows you simply click on "Add" and then "File Based Translation Memory". Then in opened window choose tmx or txt file format and thats it.

I am pretty bad in explaining things, sorry, I did not wrote this on first try.

Hello

I use SDL Trados 2014 and generally have no problems with it. I have just completed a translation of 18 pages. When I output the translation the first 12 pages are fine. Half way down page 13 the original French version is printed and not the English translation, this continues for the rest of the document.

I have not had this problem before even with very long documents. I have tried re-saving, reconfirming each section.

Does anyone have a solution for this.

Thank you very much Emma.

The workaround as stated wasn't a perfect fix. I had to directly copy the source for one section before and two after the issue. I then just had to type these in again without altering the formatting.

Very strange, but it works. Thank goodness! :)

In the Auto suggest drop down menu, on Auto Text, when I download the docx file with words, the error message is: "The list of entries does not contain AutoText...".
How can I convert the docx to a *.autotxt extension?

Have you tried creating your own document with Word (and saving it as a docx)? I ask because older versions of Word are not compatible with the new in-Word preview. I have reinstalled my old Office 2010 alongside 2016 and I can now choose between an 'embedded' preview (old style real-time) or an in-Word (2016) preview (for Word 2016 docx files).

I've just tried that with a new project I just created today with a Word document saved as .docx in the latest version. Preview gives me Embedded, Microsoft Word and HTML but when I click to generate the preview (using the second option) I get the Word file with SEGSTART+lots of letters/numbers followed by SEGEND+lots of letters/numbers and the start and end of every segment. I also cannot continue using Studio as I keep getting the message "The Protect method or property is not available because the documents is already protected".

Hi,

Do anyone of you know if it is possible to add new segments to a TM in Studio 2014 without having to process the file? I mean, open the TM management tool and directly add a couple of segments there.

Sometimes, my clients send me a few lines in the email body they use to update their materials, and it is somewhat cumbersome to have to copy paste that into a document, and process it through Studio in order to get it into the TM.

I need to keep record of those lines in case they appear later on in other tasks, as consistency needs to be maintained.

What is the smoothest and quickest way to upgrade from Studio and Multiterm 2014 to 2015? Do I need to uninstall any previous versions before installing Studio and Multiterm 2015?

And if I now have version 2011 and 2014 installed, can I just add 2015 and keep all 3 installed (both Studio and Multiterm)?

I found these instructions on SDL's website ( [url removed] ):

Note: Customers upgrading their SDL Trados Studio Freelance Edition to Studio 2015 Freelance who don't deactivate their license can continue to run the Studio 2009/2011/2014 application alongside Studio 2015. Your previous version (2009/2011/2014) will be marked as inactive in your SDL My Account and will be automatically removed once the license is being deactivated.

But then on another place they say I should deactivate the license before upgrading.

I have read the KB on this error message for Studio 2015, but as a secondary message I received "A non-recoverable error occurred during a database lookup". I deleted the project.xml file as is suggested, but I still have the problem. Any suggestions? Uninstall and reinstall? Thank you for you assistance.

I have the same situation as above Jack Smis esq with Excel and Word since the last software update. Before that, Office 2016 was working normally on my Studio 2011 as with previous versions.

If the above suggestions didn't work, I wonder rolling back the update wouldn't work either? Has anyone tried it? Feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for bringing up T-Windows for clipboard. I have to say I have not thought about T-Windows for this (I forgot I had it in my PC). I tried it and it would be exactly what I am looking for... but unfortunately it does not work.

I can see in the post you referred me to that other people have the same issue: it won't save new segments due to an "Unknown error." So... any other workaround that you can think of? Thanks!
