In my projects, using a termbase I will have the term recognition window open. As I come across a term I highlight it on both the source and target and right click. then on the pull-down menu I select Add term (or something like that, I don't exactly remember what the menu says). If it already exists the program will tell me so and ask if I want to merge them. If I say yes it is added and then I click save.
On the other hand, If I see one I want to add, from the Term Recognition window, I right click on the term which calls up a mini menu. I select View term deatils which brings up the term in the Termbase Viewer. At the top of the Termbase Viewer I fouble click on the pencil which lets me edit the term. Then Next to the source and target languages there is a downward pointing triangle. If I select them I can add an additional term. Then of course hit save.
Hope that helps
