ChainerHost error, Trados won't install at all

Hi all,

I had Studio 2009 installed which worked fine for years until a few days ago. It just said, there is a problem with Trados Studio and the application will now close. I tried different things suggested in the forums, one of them was a full de- and re-install process.

Now I can't re-install Studio at all. The message I get after the installation process seems to have finished is, there is a ChainerHost problem.

This has been discussed in this forum but none of the solutions worked for me. In the Knowledge Base it says to install the modules manually, but the one that won't install is this one: Microsoft WSE 2.0 SP3 Runtime.msi

The error message is "error 1722, problem with the Windows Installer".

I've checked with some other update and there the Installer is working.

I'm just a user with no real insight into these technical details. Does anyone have any ideas?
